New Orleans
23 to 28 July 2014
Anybody up for a week of Birthday celebrations in the birth place of Jazz?

Cajun Encounters
We did 3 tours with this company and all booked by our hotel. Because we did 3 we also go discount too! Swamp tour, City Tour & Plantation Tour - which for me was totally amazing! The whole experience was good with friendly staff and always cheery and with a wealth of knowledge.
New Orleans Musical Legends Park
This is by far the best attraction on bourbon Street that is not utilised enough. Great afternoons spent here, listening to old time jazz fest! We enjoyed it
Frenchmen Street
We loved Frenchmen Street and the surrounding area. It was full of cool bars and restaurants and we met wonderful friendly people. Just loved the jamming sessions of bands doing their stuff - great music of all "jazz" types. Awesome and great bourbon in all bars!! A must visit!!
Bayou Burger
We found this place on our first night! Ok service big burgers but confused with the whole chips verses crisps. We didn't want crisps with our burgers but chips. Not bad though.
Kingfish
We just didn't like this place. Within 5 minutes of our started arriving the main courses were ready. Not good at alL, felt too rushed. Witnessed the kitchen staff smoking 'weed' not an issue of course but c'mon there's a need for discretion guys!!! Busy place but not to our liking.
Tableau
Staff here are great. From the outside it looks like a top notch establishment. Unfortunately felt a little let down by the food as we were had upset stomachs the next day. Still ok but too pricey for what you get.
Rib Room
We really enjoyed this restaurant. Our waitress was went above and beyond her role to assist us, she was totally charming. The was fantastic too
Hotel Le Marais
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. All the staff team were polite and courteous at all times and were always there to help. Our room was great and large enough for two males (a gay couple) to share. Only issues were the bathroom side mirror was broke but still could be used and no BBC world news. otherwise the room was great and was cleaned on a daily basis. Even though the hotel was only 30 seconds from Bourbon Street and 24 hour drinking (not for us). The street was somewhat tacky. Being close did not affect our stay. Everything was fantastic and Nola is a great city. We went to local restaurants with Rib Room being by far the best. The hotel organised all our tours - Swamp, city & Plantation tour. Shopping great especially with the £ being so strong, so everything cheap. Very enjoyable.
