Strata Restaurant, Cafe & Bar
Finally found this restaurant, it was not listed in the establishment except stating it was Eon50/51 I have to say it is the worst experience I have ever encountered in any restaurant I have visited across world We booked this meal having visited the sky viewing desk earlier in the day! We asked about the restaurant and were told it was fine dining! On arrival downstairs we were kept waiting as the receptionist did not know the process of our entry to the restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant to be seated totally somewhere else than what we had requested! To our amazement no apology. We were handed menus and then had to deal with the array of screaming children (don't get me wrong, we both adore children) and we could not hear ourselves and therefore had to talk loudly over their screaming! We ordered me entrée and main courses! The wine came which for a table wine was a delight. The starter arrived (mine) and it didn't resemble "fish cakes) it looked liked cooked sausage sliced up! To make mattered worse the starter for my partner arrived 5 minutes later and only when he stated his food hadn't arrived! My partner enjoyed his entree, ravioli! It was interesting to see that the main courses arrived even before we finished the entrees and so we had to inform the waiting staff that these needed to go back! The main courses were oxtail and pork belly, both were mediocre and not well presenters meals! Please note our wine glasses had not been re-filled, we had to ask for this to happen! After we finished this course, the waitress swiftly took away everything from the table, except our wine glasses! We commented that this was very interesting, especially noticing all other tables were being treated very differently! This was most noticeable with them being offered deserts or coffee/tea! At this point we just asked for the bill! We called over the manager and explained why we could not pay the service charge! He queried this but eventually removed the service charge from the bill. He was apologetic, but this did not suffice regarding the poor treatment we encountered!! As discussed we are both seasoned travellers and have visited many countries and many many cities! I, in particular have to say that it is the worst experience I have encountered in the service industry and have never been treated in such a manner previously! This restaurant is a real failure to the Eon Group and totalling disgusting service which I truly believe the management team need to address immediately

The Alcove Library Hotel
We arrived the hotel after being collected by their driver. Note, it's an extra cost! We were given a room on the 2nd floor, it was awful and only because it stunk of smoke and although the room was clean, the smell would not have gone away!! We were then given a room on the 4th floor, much much better! We were given vouchers for a free salad (not used) and free drink each, of course we used these! We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had burgers! These were ok and they were filling! Breakfast was good as well and I would recommend that you have pancakes, they were super nice! We did a day trip to the Mekong delta, a day trip which was well worth it and which lunch included well worth it! We took in the sites of the city and further went up the financial sky tower and the observation deck! Fantastic views and not costly. We booked for a meal here and to get the city lights during the night and it was our last night! Well all I can say is don't eat in the cafe50, it was the worst treatment and food not worth the price and dreadful service! But again, we love boutique hotels and really enjoyed our stay at the The Alcove - Library Hotel! Would put this at 3.5*
Eon 50
Eon 50 must be part of the same group!! If I could have left a review directly, of course, I would have done this!!
